One person, start to finish
When you call Home Helpers, you get me. I come to look at the work, talk through the scope and put the quote in writing. If you go ahead, I am the person who turns up to do it. Afterwards, you have the same person to contact if you have a question.
Before working on the tools full time, I spent twenty years as a mechanical engineer. I want to understand what is holding a deck up or where water is getting into a roof before fixing the part you can see. The job photographs show those hidden stages as well as the finished surface.
Why I started Home Helpers
I saw people getting let down by tradespeople. Jobs were left half-finished, prices changed and mess was left behind. I set up Home Helpers because I wanted to do the work in a way I would be happy with at my own home.
I quote honestly, agree the work with you and leave the place tidy. If something unexpected changes the scope, I talk to you before doing extra work. I also tell you if something is outside my area. I do not take on gas work.
A useful pair of hands for your home
I take on fencing, decking, patios and driveway repairs, roofing and gutters, joinery, brickwork, gardening and household jobs. You can ask about a shelf that needs hanging as well as a garden project. Tell me what needs doing, even if it does not fit neatly into one heading.
My local patch centres on Penistone, Barnsley, Holmfirth, Denby Dale and Stocksbridge, with Huddersfield, Wakefield and the edge of Sheffield also covered. If you are unsure about your area, ring me or include your postcode when asking for a quote.

The gallery shows my own jobs, including the stages of a deck rebuild and a path before and after relaying. The reviews page keeps customers’ words in full. There are no stock job photographs here.
Quotes are free with no obligation. I give a fixed written price for most jobs and explain the materials and scope. I accept bank transfer and cash; for larger jobs I may ask for a deposit for materials. Call, WhatsApp or tell me about your job using the form.
